Precious Imperfection

There is a sika deer in the park with one eye. She is still beautiful and I have never seen any of the other deer treating her any differently from the others. The female sikas are a close group and spend a lot of time grooming one another. I was very touched one day when I watched several others grooming this one eyed deer. One was licking where her eye was missing and she was standing still obviously enjoying the tender grooming.

Isn't that great that they don't have any prejudices against one another.

On first glance I thought this was really sad. After reading how the others treated this one, it became inspirational. A very tender photo, Faye. Nita

Oh, and I really like the labeling too. It's fun to look at all the photos of one species at a time. Great work here, sis. But you know that. :) You got the IT when it comes to photographer. Nita
