New Life

I was absolutely thrilled to find a rhea sitting on eggs close to the road again. I'll try to get lots of photos on the progress. I would give anything to be there for the hatching.

I think she is still in the process of laying the eggs because all I counted were 3 and the one I shot last summer had a whole nest full of eggs (see April 29 blog)

The male actually sits on the eggs but this is probably the female if she is still laying eggs.
